BREAKING: DeSantis signs new immigration legislation into law
Yesterday, the House and Senate Committees approved new immigration legislation. This morning, the legislation passed both chambers. This afternoon, Gov. DeSantis signed it into law.
As TFDP previously covered, the Florida Legislature proposed new immigration legislation this week that maintains a provision for the mandatory death penalty for any “unauthorized alien” convicted of a capital offense—as previously approved by the Legislature in the prior iteration of the legislation.
Yesterday, Committees in the House and Senate approved the new legislation. (More here.) This morning, the House and the Senate approved the legislation. The Senate vote was 25-11. The House vote was 85-29.
