Brevard County: Life for James Green
On June 6, following a guilty plea, the trial court sentenced Green to life in prison without parole on both counts of first-degree murder. The State waived the death penalty.
In September 2022, James Green was charged with two counts of first-degree murder of his aunt and uncle. The State sought the death penalty.
Green had a history of mental illness. James’ sister testified as to the history of mental illness in the family, including for Green.
On June 6, Green pled guilty to both counts of first-degree murder as charged. In return, the State waived the death penalty.
Accordingly, on June 6, the trial court sentenced Green to life in prison without parole on both counts of first-degree murder.
