Zack Warrant: Escambia County schedule
Some documents are now available on the Escambia County docket, including the trial court scheduling order and the transcript from Tuesday. Here's the update.
A week ago today, Gov. DeSantis signed the sixth death warrant of the year, scheduling Michael Zack’s execution for October 3 at 6:00 p.m. (More here.)
Some documents were just made available on the Escambia County trial court’s docket, including the scheduling order for the trial court proceedings and the transcript from the status conference on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s Transcript
As expected, the transcript indicates that the discussion at the status conference was focused on scheduling.
One thing worth noting is that the Judge said that she moved a full day of hearings that she “moved . . . to the afternoon so that [she] would have the entire morning free” for this case. The Judge also noted the time-crunch in this warrant-related litigation:
Scheduling Order
In addition to the deadlines listed below, the scheduling order states that neither counsel nor Zack are required to attend the proceedings in-person.
Past Deadlines
Here are the deadlines that have already passed since the Order was entered on Monday, August 21.
