U.S. Supreme Court
As of yesterday afternoon, Rogers’ petition for writ of certiorari at the U.S. Supreme Court seeking review of the Florida Supreme Court’s decision was fully briefed. As of 1:00 this afternoon, there is no ruling on the petition.
The filings can be found on the Court’s docket here.
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit
Rogers filed an emergency motion for stay of execution in the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Today, the Court issued an Order denying the motion and determining “Rogers is unlikely to succeed” on his appeal from the district court’s ruling “that it would not serve the interests of justice to appoint Rogers new counsel.”
Today, the Tampa Bay Times published a feature article on Glen Rogers’ case, which can be read online here.
